ROTARY INTERNATIONAL
 
Rotary is a global network of commu­nity volunteers. Rotary members are business, professional, and community leaders who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards, and help build goodwill and peace in the world. Over 32,000 Rotary clubs in more than 200 countries and geographi­cal areas initiate service projects to address today’s challenges, including illiteracy, disease, hunger, poverty, lack of clean water, and environmental concerns.
 
 
ROTARY CLUB OF HICKSVILLE SOUTH
 
A group, largely Indian American, of like-minded friends started the club in 2009, drawn by Rotary's diverse, nonpolitical, and nonreligious structure. Our club meets alternate Thursdays at 7:00 PM in Hicksville Long Island.  Ms. Nilima Madan is the current President  for 2020-21. Mr. Mukesh Modi, a successful businessman and Philanthropist was the President for 2019-2020. Roopam Maini was  the President for 2018-2019. Dr. Urmilesh Arya, a successful physician was the President for 2017-2018. Dave Sharma, an Airline Professional was President for 2016-2017 of Hicksville South Rotary Club. Under the Presidency of Mr. Mukesh Modi our club reached to 52 rotary members. 
 
The honorary members of RCHS includes Indian Ambassador Prabhu Dayal, Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano and Comptroller of Nassau County George Maragos.
 
Our club participated in a broad range of humanitarian, intercultural, and educational activities designed to improve the human condition. By using their skills and expertise, members also enhance their professional network, career development, and cross-cultural understanding.
 
Among the club’s current initiatives, include “Food for Hunger” and “Bright Beginnings” 650 Backpacks to help families in need on Long island. A full list of current and past projects of RCHS are noted in the following pages.

    Rotary Club of Hicksville South is the proud home club of Past District Governor Kamlesh C. Mehta who served the Rotary International District 7255 for the Year 2015-16.  It is historic & prestigious for any Rotary Club to have nomination of a member as Rotary District Governor in less than 5 years of its Charter.
 
  • Charter President Mr. Kamlesh Mehta served many key positions in District Leadership besides the District Governor for the year 2015-16.
  • Mr. Gautam Sanghvi served as Rotary District Treasurer for 2015-16 and 2016 -17.
  • Mr. Quddus Mohammed served as Assistant District Governor for three terms, between 2014-2017
  • Mr. Dan Flynn  served as Assistant District Governor for  2015-2016
